Book by Ryan Holiday, summary by S🧠FIA
What progress have I made? I have begun to be my own friend.
The crown does not make a queen great if her soul is poor. Wear fashion, don't let it wear you.
Solemn without airs of grandeur.
Foolish is she who is always preparing to live, like waiting for the river to stop flowing to cross it.
The greatest pain is to deprive ourselves and the world of our greatness.
1. Control Yourself
Body
- A clean body and space are the result and influence of a clean mind.
- Exhaustion is more expensive than timely rest. What do you prefer?
- An inferior, undisciplined mind seeks distractions, a superior disciplined mind keeps busy to be alert when most needed.
- It's never too late to conquer.
The things that matter the most
- What's most important to you? Demand and exhaust yourself only in what's necessary and important.
- If you don't know what matters most to you, you're vulnerable to anything shiny that comes your way.
- Trying to get everything is to get nothing. Conquer the world by starting with a niche.
- Saying yes to everything is not choosing. Prioritize YOUR life, not others'. Care about the opinion of the right people at the right time.
- "I must decline for secret reasons."
- Don't talk more than necessary, give more weight to your words.
- Delegate. Give up control of the superfluous to focus on what's important.
